GIR off the shelf (OTS) maps and E-tuning

E-Tuning, or known as remote tuning, is a process of tuning a car by using datalogs and tuning updates via email instead of in person on dynometer. Got It Rex will provide a base map preloaded on your new Cobb Accessport (if purchased in conjunction with kit) or via email. We will provide detailed instructions on loading and datalogging your new GIR map. We dial in every aspect of the engine tune as we would in person.

Notes about E-Tuning:

E-Tuning is meant to be a convenience for those that cannot get to us in person on the dyno, not as a cheap way to get the same tune.  While you will get a solid and safe tune, you will always get a more optimised and fine tuned calibration if we can tune your car in person on a dyno.  Additionally, because our service is done as a convenience, it is prioritised lower than our dyno customers. During heavy work loads, E-tuning will be slower to start and complete and this is reflected in the lower cost. Opting for E-tuning instead of dyno tuning also limits on scope of modifications. We will only offer E-tuning on modification options listed below and on 98 fuel, not E85. This is a great option for our remote customers and provide a good base before moving to a true dyno tune. You will always get the best result on a dyno with us, but some times this is just not feasible due to location.

What to expect:

Our goal is to provide a safe tuning foundation for modifications on your vehicle utilising in-house developed performance parts that have been rigorously tested and professionally tuned. We will only provide E-tuning for proven and tested parts that we use in-house. This means the car requires a list of approved brands only.

We try to deliver the first revision on your E-Tune in 1-3 business days. Revision updates can take 1-7 days with the average being closer to 2-3 days but it all depends on our workload of dyno tuning.

A checklist will be provided along with instructions on how to send quality, usable datalogs. The E-tuning process is generally able to be completed in a few revisions, with power incrementally increased until process is completed.

What options are available:

Off the shelf (OTS) maps for Cobb Accessport

Our off the shelf options are designed to be used in conjunction with our GIR CAI, or Process West CAI or Cobb CAI in either Stage 1 or Stage 2 configurations. Both Stage 1 and Stage 2 maps are provided, just choose CAI option on checkout.

- Our Stage 1 map is designed for a stock vehicle with the only engine modification being a cold air intake

- Our Stage 2 map is designed for a vehicle fitted with choice of cold air intake and either a high flow catted downpipe or a full turboback exhaust

We currently offer both Stage 1 and Stage 2 options for the following models:

2015-2021 VAB WRX and STI Manual

2022-2023 VB WRX Manual

Custom E-Tuning

- As above, but with additional E-tuning to get the most out of the OTS mapping, custom tailored to your vehicle. We will optimise the mapping via email revisions, further improving what can be achieved on an OTS map. The OTS maps need to be more generic in nature as there are variances across vehicles and as such, need to have additional safety buffer in place. This can be optimised via custom tuning.

We will be looking to expand offerings as development continues

Common Questions:

I have a Cobb Accessport already, how do I get the correct map for my car?

This can be checked using the Cobb Accessport hand piece in vehicle via the Identify Vehicle option. Alternatively, if you are purchasing the Accessport through us, a drop down box is provided before checkout to input your year and model of vehicle. We will confirm this with you before sending.

How long does the process take?

Allow a week on average depending on workload and quality of datalogs sent

Can I use the OTS maps with different mods to ones offered?

No. We have structured this service to be as focused as possible and this does limit scope. As such, the tunes are offered for the approved mods only. This greatly benefits repeatability and proven results.

What risks are involved?

As with any modifications or tuning on a vehicle, there are inherit risks involved. Pushing your car past the factory intended power levels can introduce increased wear and risk to engine reliability. The responsibility is on the owner to ensure the car is of sound mechanical operation before and after undertaking modification. Modifying or tuning your vehicle WILL void your factory warranty.

Datalogging involves driving the car under varied conditions to get the required data quality needed to tune vehicle. This includes under power. You are required to not exceed/infringe on your state and territory road rules.
